A life size diorama was recently painted for the Chrisman California Islands Center in Carpinteria, California.
The original painting by Holli Harmon is installed in the existing Lone Woman exhibit in Chumash Life at the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History.

“Her feet were bare, as also her head, which was covered with a thick growth of hair matted, and bleached to a reddish brown and hung down to her shoulders. Her features were quite regular and her complexion fairer than the Indians of the mainland and although she must have been about 50 years old her face was remarkably free from wrinkles.” ( Nidever in Murray, 1878)

This was painted by Holli Harmon for the Santa Barbara Natural History Museum. The painting has now been installed for public viewing as a permanent addition to the existing Lone Woman exhibit in Chumash Life.
